A hashtag urging Zayn Malik to cancel his engagement to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards has been trending on Twitter. Instead of responding to the hate tweets, however, the former One Direction hottie posted a topless photo of himself on Twitter.
The hashtag #CANCELYOURENGAGEMENTZAYN has been trending on Twitter and fans immediately came to his defense.
One user wrote, "he's not going to cancel it just because a bunch of jealous 11-14 year olds are telling him to do it, grow up."
Another wrote, "#CANCELYOURENGAGEMENTZAYN is an example on why 12 year old shouldnt be on twitter."
"Zayn fans weren't the only ones sticking up for Zerrie. When Zayn got wind of the mean-spirited hashtag, he let the haters know he was just going to continue blocking the shade - literally!" Seventeen magazine said.
In the Twitter post, the former One Direction hottie can be seen showing off his body art as he posed for a topless selfie.
"Perfection! After his fair shade of Twitter drama, it looks like Zayn has finally realized that sometimes the perfect response to haters, is no response at all," it added.
OK! magazine pointed out that the hashtag #CANCELYOURENGAGEMENTZAYN started with one user who wrote, "Let's get this trending #1 worldwide guys!"
Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards have been engaged for a few years now but the wedding is not yet in the horizon.
In a clip for Capital FM uploaded on You Tube, Perrie Edwards said, "I'm sick of being asked, 'When is the wedding? When is the wedding?'"
"I'll get married when I'm bloody ready!" she playfully screamed to the camera.
In an interview with The Sun, Perrie Edwards said, "I don't know when the wedding will be."
"We're still planning it but I'm so busy...Me and Zayn want it to be perfect, so as soon as I have a bit of time we'll plan it. I doubt it will be this summer-but I'll let you know!" Zayn Malik's fiancée added.
