A "Bill Nye The Science Guy" movie is reportedly in the works. Several fans and filmmakers have reportedly started a Kickstarter campaign to fund the documentary.

According to E! News, David Alvarado and Jason Sussberg are collaborating with "Freakonomics" producer Seth Gordon to make the movie happen. The publication reported that the documentary will follow Bill Nye as he explores the world and attempts to fight climate change.

It was said that Bill Nye is fully on board with creating a documentary. He has reportedly given the producers complete access to his personal life, including speeches he previously gave on space policy, satellite and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

David Alvarado and Jason Sussberg said that Nye has placed a huge impact on their lives when he starred in the hit 90s TV show "Bill Nye The Science Guy."

"Bill's show played a huge role in our desire to explore science and technology in our work," they explained in the Kickstarter campaign video.

"Bill is about to take off his 'Science Guy' lab coat and battle the naysayers to create a more scientifically literate and engaged universe," the campaign said.

"We're going to make a film about it. A film for science. A film for the cosmos. The full access, exclusive film about Bill Nye."

Fans who will donate will be given a set of Bill Nye-themed emojis, a bowtie, as well as copy of Nye's handwritten notes from his debate with Ken Hamm. It was also said that they will get a thank you in the credits of the film plus a private screening of the finished documentary.

The money from the campaign will reportedly be used to cover Nye's travel expenses as he goes around the world. They will also need help paying for licensing fees to include Nye's past work in the documentary.
