ZTE's new phone, Axon, seems like it could appeal to many smartphone users thanks to its interesting design and great build quality. The new device was apparently designed in the United States with the US market in mind.

The new spinoff from ZTE brings an array of awe-inspiring specs at a price that usually ends up with something a bit more mid-range.

According to records on AndroidCentral, the handset feels solid and sports a premium metal build that feels slightly slippery to the touch but still very premium. With a slight curve on the back and very small bezels, the 5.5-inch phone feels great in hand. In addition, the 5.5-inch QHD display is bright and adds to its great looks.

ZTE's Axon runs a skinned version of Android 5.1.1. The device boasts of the Snapdragon 810 which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage. Axon comes with a dual camera setup that is capable of shooting 4K video and is able to adjust focus after taking photos. Other manufacturers have abandoned that sort of setup.

The Axon Pro features a physical shutter button which is located below the power button to make taking photos even easier.

Axon features a dual rear camera (13 MP + 2 MP) with dual-LED flash and 4K video capture, an 8 megapixel selfie camera. The dual-camera of the device utilizes the same tech as HTC One (M8), GSMArena noted.

Basically, ZTE's newest flagship seems to tick off the right boxes making it a real powerhouse of a phone, especially considering its price of $449.98 (without tax).

Moreover, ZTE is making it really easy for anyone to give it a try with the addition of Axon Passport 1.0 program, giving users a two-year warranty, one year free shipping on warranty repairs and a 30-day buyer's remorse policy.

The handset is available for preorder now, and for a limited time consumers get a pair of JBL E-13 in-ear headphones for free.
