Gwyneth Paltrow might be divorced from Chris Martin but the good thing is they have similar values, which is why they stayed friends for the sake of the kids.
During the #BlogHer15 conference in New York, the mother of two talked about the her divorce and why they decided to be involved in each other's lives, at least as far as Apple, 11, and Moses, 9, is concerned.
The 42-year-old explained, "I think, unfortunately, though we couldn't stay in a romantic relationship, we're very, our values are very much around the importance of family and the importance of those relationships and I'm lucky that we're aligned in that way."
But she admitted that the adjustment has been difficult.
"We've gone through really difficult times with it but we've always said these children are our priority," she said. "What that really means is, 'Even though today, you hate me and you never want to see me again, like, we're going to brunch, 'cause it's Sunday and that's what we'll do!'"
Gwyneth Paltrow continued, "You know, like, 'That's what's happening!'" she said. "Like, the children are our commitment."
Perhaps to illustrate that commitment, Coldplay frontman went to the GOOP party along with their two kids on Thursday last week.
"Apple and Moses Martin 'invaded' the party, which was held at a private residence in Amagansett, and spent the evening running around the lawn and mingling with the fashionable guests," said E! News. "A partygoer also spilled that the kids even got into mini cars and were driving around the summer affair."
Chris Martin was also around, and even walked barefoot, for the casual get together.
After their split, Chris Martin was rumored to be hooking up with "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence, while Gwyneth Paltrow is dating "Scream Queens" producer Brad Falchuk. The "Iron Man" actress filed for divorce in April.
