So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin are said to be considering the leading roles in a new series written by the Hong sisters.
The sibling screenwriting team is responsible for such successful romcom hits as "My Girl, "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho," Big" and "The Greatest Love." With so much drama success to their credit, it's only natural that their new series, called "The Sun of The Lord," will be eagerly anticipated. And that it will feature roles actors will be eager to play. Will So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin sign on?
Bon Factory, the production company for the new drama, said that the lead roles have been offered to the actors but there is no word yet as to whether they will accept them. The character that Gong Hyo Jin is considering playing is a woman who can see ghosts. So Ji Sub has been asked to play the man who protects her, but there's no word yet on what the character has to protect her from.
Although the Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ram usually write comedies, no one is sure whether this will be another comedy or a drama or even a historical drama.

Raising the question of whether it will be more serious than previous dramas is the choice of a leading man. So Ji Sub, who starred as the dual role of the hardworking detective/hacker in "Phantom," is not known for playing comedy roles. He played a convincing hit man in the film, "A Company Man," and a boxer in the film "Always." Fans are wondering whether he can make audiences laugh. On the other hand, having starred in "Phantom," he has some experience with ghosts, even if they are only cyber-ghosts.
Gong Hyo Jin, on the other hand, is well known for being funny. She has played several comedic roles, including the role of Gu Ae Jung in "The Greatest Love." The Hong Sisters also wrote that comedy about the entertainment business. She is also known for playing Yang Mi Sook in "Crush and Blush" and Seo Yoo Kyung in "Pasta."
The two actors have never worked together before.
Adding to the appeal of the upcoming drama is the choice of director. Jin Hyuk has directed a string of successful drama hits, including "A Brilliant Legacy," "City Hunter," and "Prosecutor Princess." The show will air this summer.
