Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj's Twitter feud over nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards shook social media when it broke.
According to Us Weekly, Nicki Minaj expressed through Twitter that though she appreciates the nominations, she thinks she should be up for more than three awards.
Despite "Anaconda" being nominated for "Best Hip Hop Video" and "Best Female Video," it missed out on bigger categories like "Video of the Year," the nominees for which include Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar.
"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," Nicki Minaj wrote in a tweet.
Taylor Swift reacted to the "Bang Bang" singer's tweets.
"@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.." Taylor tweeted.
"Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13 ... @taylorswift13 I'm still confused as to why u just tweeted me when I made it abundantly clear.." Nicki Minaj responded.
The Twitter misunderstanding seemed to have been resolved through Taylor Swift's tweet saying: "@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on."
However, Katy Perry seemed to have grabbed the opportunity to jump in the social media feud and slam Taylor Swift, with whom she is known to have beef with.
In a tweet, Katy Perry may have indirectly confirmed that Taylor Swift's Bad Blood video was indeed about her, according to The Guardian.
"Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman..." Katy Perry tweeted.
