Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer is on a mission to bring back rock music. After the worldwide success of their latest single “She’s Kinda Hot,” 5SOS is ready for a more mature and distinct sound.

According to Inquistr, "She's Kinda Hot" debuted at No.1 in more than 37 countries. Over four million 5SOS fans also viewed the track on YouTube in less than a week. Band member Calum Hood said that this is just the start of their mission to bring back rock music to the public.

"We introduce a bit more guitar on the radio and inspire some people to pick up guitars. We love rock music and we want to hear it back on mainstream radio," Hood told News.com.au in an interview at one of their gigs in San Francisco.

The publication reported that the band was greeted with "Beatlesque screams" during one of their shows. They received the loudest screams when they encouraged their fans to be true to themselves no matter what others say.

5SOS Bassist and singer Calum Hood said that they wanted to bring a new sound to what is currently offered by the mainstream media. He added that he was tired of listening to the same kind of tracks over and over again.

"We love rock music and we want to hear it back on mainstream radio," he told the publication.

"I am sick and tired of hearing all this bulls#*t on the radio, if I am going to be honest. It is driving me insane."

Hood also mentioned that 5SOS wanted to help their fans who have been victims of bullying. He added that he wanted their songs to be an inspiration to the younger generation.

"Everyone has felt they kind of sucked sometimes, especially with us when the band first started and we didn't fit into anything. Our song would serve as a revolution for kids who don't feel they are accepted in society," he concluded.
