Vanessa Hudgens looked very much in love as she chronicled her African Safari adventure with boyfriend Austin Butler on her Instagram.

Two days ago, she posted a selfie on Instagram inside a vehicle with the giraffes behind her. She wrote, "I can't believe I made it to Africa. Let the adventure begin. #Vcation #SophieLyndon2015."

But her post received a lot of backlash for perpetuating the misconception that Africa is a country.

One fan wrote, "Thank you @vanessahudgens for spreading the stereotypes and keeping the vauge generalizations alive."

Another said, "Dude ......this is like a stereotype ..not all Africans live with lions and zebras. . And we live in normal houses not huts...we are normal people."

"You know that not all of Africa is a savannah and there are 54 different countries @vanessahudgens," another commented.

Nevertheless, Vanessa Hudgens refused to be affected by the comments as she posted another selfie, this time with boyfriend Austin Butler, with the King of the Jungle behind them. She wrote, "Yep that's a lion. #wtf #Africa #Vcation."

In another post, Vanessa Hudgens cozied up to Austin Butler as she stared longingly at her boyfriend. She wrote, "Night time festivities with my handsome man for #SophieLyndon2015 #Africa #Vcation."

Again, the negative comments came flooding in, with one of her followers saying, "Africa? Really? Africa is not a freaking country #sostupid @abigailannh this chick does not know where in Africa (the continent) she's in -_-"

Vanessa Hudgens and boyfriend Austin Butler made their first public appearance together during the 2015 MTV Fandom Awards at the Comic-Con on July 9 in Petco Park, San Diego, California.

"The 26-year-old actress was there to support Austin, 23, who was in attendance to present the award for Best New Fandom of the Year to the cast of iZombie," said Just Jared. "Vanessa also met up with her former Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson while at the event."
