Eight K-Drama Stars That Celebrate An August Birthday

Several k-celebs are a year older in August and each has had a busy year since their last birthday.

Today, August 4, is Jang Geun Suk's birthday and while the actor has not appeared in a drama since "Pretty Man," he has been busy during the last year. In February he released his third solo album Monochrome and won the third place on the Oricon charts. He also toured Japan, selling out tickets in Osaka, Niigata, Fukuoka, Okayama, Shizuika, Hokkaido, Kobe, and Tokyo. And he directed and starred in "Camp," a short film that debuted in first place on the Oricon Weekly Film chart.

August 5 is Kwon Sang Woo's birthday. He has not appeared in a drama since starring in "Temptation" with Choi Ji Woo and Park Ha Sun. But this year he has roles in two films, a Chinese film titled "Honey Enemy" and a k-movie titled 'Detective." Kwon became a star when he appeared in the comedy film "My Tutor Friend" and in the drama "Stairway To Heaven."

August 15: This year Song Ji Hyo took on the lead role in the romantic-comedy drama "Ex-Girlfriends Club" with co-star Byun Yo Han. Originally scheduled for 16 episodes, it only ran for 12. In July it was reported that Song left with C-JeS Entertainment after being managed by the company for four years. She had previous k-drama success playing the ballerina Min Hyo Rin in "Princess Hours, Lady Ye So Ya in "Jumong" and a divorcee doctor in "Emergency Couple."

Also born on August 15 is Go Joon Hee. The actress, who debuted as a school uniform model, can be seen on both the small and big screen this year. She appears in the film "Intimate Enemies" and has a supporting role in the upcoming drama "She Was Pretty." She has not appeared on the small screen since the 2013 drama "Queen of Ambition."

August 17: Yoo Seung Ho was discharged from his two-year mandatory military duty in December 2014. His first post-army project was appearing in the music video for Naul's "You From the Same Time" in 2015. He is will soon appear in the period film "Joseon Magician" with Go Ara.

August 18: A Pink's Jung Eun Ji turns 22 this year. In 2014, she starred in a musical adaptation of the 2004 series "Full House." She followed that with a role in the romantic comedy "Trot Lovers" with co-stars Ji Hyun Woo and Shin Sung Rok.

August 19: Son Tae Young shares an August birthday with her actor husband Kwon Sang Woo. She paused her career this year to give birth to the couple's second child, a daughter, in January. She was last seen in the 2014 film "Into The Flames" and the drama "Love War."

August 29: Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon has not acted since his cameo in the 2012 drama "King of Dramas, " but he is a majority shareholder in Key East Entertainment. He married actress Park Soo Jin on July 27 in a small private wedding.
