Kim Richards' family is reportedly pulling all stops to stop the court from sending her to jail.
A new report claimed that the entire family, including sisters Kyle and Kathy Hilton, are getting desperate to save the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star. They are reportedly hoping that the judge will send him to a rehab facility rather than to prison following her second arrest for allegedly shoplifting.
"Kim's family wants her attorney to not fight the rehab because it's so obvious she needs it," a source told Radar Online.
"Even though she has several failed rehab stints, the family thinks this is the last hope to save Kim's life."
Her next court appearance is reportedly scheduled on July 16. The family is hoping that she only gets probation, adding that she is still fragile from her recent stint in rehab.
"The judge will order her to rehab as part of a plea deal drawn up by her attorney Robert Shapiro and the district attorney. The terms of the deal they initially agreed upon included three years of probation, 30 days in jail or 30 days community labor, and 52 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings," an insider told the publication.
"This had all been agreed upon before her latest arrest, and the DA is more than likely to add an additional term of rehab for at least 90 days."
The 50-year-old reality star was arrested over the weekend for allegedly shoplifting $600 merchandise from Target. Kim was then sent to the Valley Jail in Van Nuys where she spent the night before her family posted bail on Monday.
Kim's former husband Monty was reportedly in "complete shock" over the incident, saying that he though that his wife has fully recovered.
"She was arrested for shoplifting toys in a cart, but this was a clear misunderstanding. This must be some kind of mistake."
