When the cast for the upcoming drama, "The Heirs," was announced last month, it seemed like a dream cast. "The Heirs" was going to feature popular stars Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye and CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa.

However, only weeks after saying he would appear in the drama, Jung had a change of heart and withdrew.

The drama would have been the first time that Jung Yong Hwa acted with Lee Min Ho but it would have been the third time that he appeared in a drama with Park Shin Hye. The two appeared together in "You're Beautiful" and "Heartstrings." In "You're Beautiful," Jung Yong Hwa was the guy who almost got Park Shin Hye and in "Heartstrings," he succeeded. Having appeared together twice, the actors have remained good friends.

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye have never worked with each other, although they have appeared in commercials together. So, fans were interested to see how this possible love triangle might play out.

It would have been Jung Yong Hwa's first drama appearance since "Heartstrings" in 2011, although he did have a cameo role in the 2012 drama "A Gentleman's Dignity."

And it was not just a dream cast but the drama is going to employ the talents of writer Kim Eun Sook, the writer responsible for the dramas "Secret Garden," "Lovers in Paris," and "A Gentleman's Dignity."

But only last week Jung Yong Hwa decided to opt out of the drama.

"Jung Yong Hwa examined his role and we have not reached an agreement with the production company on the role he is going to play," said the statement from FNC Entertainment. "Because of this, we respect his decision to withdraw from the drama amicably."

His agency released a statement saying that he was going to focus on his music instead.

"Jung Yong Hwa plans to concentrate on his world tour and the other musical activities planned for CNBlue in the latter half of the year, including the Blue Moon World Tour," said his agency.

The band is set to perform in Bangkok and Hong Kong in May.

But that does not mean that the actor and singer will rule out appearing in future dramas. It has to be the right drama at a time that fits into his hectic touring schedule.

"He has received many offers so he's looking them over them and we're sure he'll be able to return with a good role soon," said the statement from his agency.

Kang Shin Hyo of "Tazza" and "Midas" is directing "The Heirs," which is slated for October.
