Many Nicolas Sparks fans were excited upon learning that CW is developing a TV series based on the author's 1996 novel, "The Notebook."
The novel was first brought to life in by Ryan Gosling Rachel McAdams in 2004, in a movie directed by Nick Cassavetes.
Now, Nicolas Sparks will reportedly be the executive producer of "The Notebook" TV series which will reportedly be handled by Nicholas Sparks Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
"This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina," the official tagline for the TV series said, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly.
Will "The Notebook" TV adaptation once again star Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams? It may not be clear at this moment, but CW president Mark Pedowitz may have hinted at the Television Critics Association's press tour that they could be casting younger actors for the series.
"I don't believe we're going to see the older couple-what they become," Pedowitz said, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly. "But things change [in development]. I'm thrilled Nick Sparks wanted to do it at The CW."
It could be recounted that Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams dated a year after starring in the Nicolas Sparks movie. Their romance lasted from 2005 to 2007, and the couple purportedly reunited briefly in 2008.
"God bless The Notebook. It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life," Ryan Gosling said in 2007, as quoted by Us Weekly.
"But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."
Ryan Gosling is now in a relationship with Eva Mendez. While Rachel McAdams is now linked to her "True Detective" co-star Taylor Kitsch, according to Celebuzz.
