A top CBS exec is standing by the decision of "The Good Wife" writers and producers on the final scene featuring Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi's final scene which generated controversy for the two actresses being CGIed together.
CBS boss Nina Tassler described the scene as movie magic.
"I just love that you're so passionate about this. Quite frankly, it's a testament to your support and enthusiasm to the show. I'm not going to reveal movie magic," she said, adding that the final scene gave a satisfying ending for fans of the show.
"Oh my god. What happened? They ended the relationship. I can tell you right now it's movie magic," she added. "The way a producer shoots their show, that's really all I care about. Did the relationships work, did the story work, did the audience feel like they saw the end of the relationship? And they did."
She continued,"I haven't really heard that [it affected the way the audience saw the show]. Honestly, from audiences, I've heard they loved the show, people are much more invested in Alicia's journey and that's where the show is going, forward and to the future. Rob and Michelle, they're around, be my guest, go talk to them."
TVLine reported that "The Good Wife" finale "pulled off" a trick, leading to the CGI controversy, by showing Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi's characters, Alicia and Kalinda, inside the bar as they resolved their differences.
The two actress were rumored to be feuding on the set, which allegedly pushed Panjabi into leaving the series. But E! News reportedly talked to sources insisting that there's no tension between the two actresses.
When Archie Panjabi was asked about the controversial CGI scene on "The Good Wife" finale, she said, "All I can say is this: the decision-making process is not something I'm privy to," the actress said at the time.
