A lot of "Game of Thrones" fans were excited to see Emilia Clarke's performance in "Terminator" alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Emilia Clarke is known for her role of Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones," and many were anticipating that her movie stint with Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Terminator" could carve the British actress a nice piece of a career in Hollywood.
However, an industry insider reportedly revealed that Emilia Clarke's services wouldn't be needed in the possible "Terminator" sequels, as her contract will reportedly be cut up for good.
"Sadly her acting ability has been called into question and has in part been blamed for the film's flop," an insider told Dish Nation.
"Of course it's not all her fault, but they basically don't want her back. They're saying she doesn't have the star power they thought she did."
Apparently, "Terminator: Genysis" didn't do very well in the box office as well as the other "Terminator" movies. It may be possible that producers can't put the blame on Hollywood action movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, and pinpointing Emilia Clarke as the cause of the movie's failure may be a lot more sensible.
"It's a shame because the role could have really cemented her place in Hollywood," the insider added. "But instead it's put a downer on it."
Too bad it didn't work out for the "Game of Thrones" star who has expressed excitement over working alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger for her first Hollywood break.
"I grew up watching the movies so the spirit of what Linda Hamilton created was already within me anyway," Emilia Clarke said last month, as quoted by The Sydney Morning Herald.
"While 1984 was a time when I wasn't alive, I still know the resonance that it had being a woman and having that role be so strong and how it really changed things for actresses in Hollywood for a long time," the "Game of Thrones" actresses added.
"So I felt incredibly lucky having the opportunity to take it on in 2015 and put my own stamp on it."
