In an act to bring in more power to the show, NBC is going to introduce more stars into "The Voice" when it returns in September 2015 for its ninth season. Sources have confirmed that Selena Gomez will join the cast as an adviser, according to International Business Times.
"The Voice" premieres Sept. 21 on NBC for the next season.
The series "The Voice", has its usual quartet of celebrity judges, in each season. After Christina Aguilera took over for her in Season 8, Gwen Stefani will reclaim her big red chair in season 9, as previously reported by International Business Times. All the four of them will be retained as the shows regular judges, while Selena Gomez will join as a celebrity adviser for Team Stefani at some point in the season.
In the previous season, celebrity advisers included Nate Ruess and Reba McEntire. The season saw 16-year-old prodigy Sawyer Fredericks take home first place, according to People magazine. The magazine also reported that Gomez will use the show to promote her album "Revival," which releases on Oct. 9.
Gomez will not be the only one who will boost the show with her presence in Season 9. It was recently revealed by International Business Times that Rihanna has signed on as a guest adviser at some point in the season.
According to reports from E! Online , Rihanna's role in the show will different from Gomez's. While Gomez is only going to be advising Team Stefani, Rihanna will be an adviser to all four judges, a bit of a floating utility player for Levine, Shelton, Stefani and Williams. Also, there could be three more people joining the show at some point, the International Business Times reported.
