Nina Dobrev certainly enjoyed the limelight at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards, even if she's trying to keep a low profile since her "The Vampire Diaries" exit.
Most entertainment outlets agreed that Nina Dobrev shone on the red carpet and stage of the 2015 Teen Choice Awards as she accepted the plum for her performance as Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries."
Nina Dobrev was awarded Choice TV Actress in Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Awkwardly, she and Ian Somerhalder were also awarded Choice TV: Liplock.
Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed were noticeably absent in this year's Teen Choice Awards, sparking speculations that Nikki Reed allegedly banned her husband from attending the ceremony.
The reason? One of the Teen Choice Awards' highlights each year is the Choice TV: Liplock winners kiss on stage.
The whole "The Vampire Diaries" fandom may be well aware that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder used to be in a relationship for three years. After the two broke up last year, Ian Somerhalder dated Nikki Reed and married the "Twilight" actress earlier this year.
Was Nikki Reed still jealous of Nina Dobrev or did Ian Somerhalder simply didn't attend the awarding ceremony so as not to make a big deal out of the Choice TV: Liplock award?
Possibly to make things less awkward, the producers of the show decided to announce the Choice TV: Liplock award of "The Vampire Diaries" former co-stars along with Nina's Choice TV actress award.
In her acceptance speech, Nina Dobrev admitted that departing from "The Vampire Diaries" has been nothing but easy for her.
"The last two months have been a pretty big change for me," Nina Dobrev said, as quoted by Celeb Dirty Laundry.
She added, "Change is a scary word ... because it meant new beginnings. Change is necessary. Necessary for you to grow and to learn and to better yourself because everything in life comes to an end and as this chapter of my life comes to an end I look back at it with a grateful heart, and I smile."
