Diana White, Ultimate Fighter Champion President told The Los Angeles Times that the Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey bout had been booked for Jan 2, 2016 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas .

"(On) January 2, (2016) I'll be fighting Holly Holm," Rousey told Good Morning America. She added, "She is definitely my biggest challenge to date so I'm super excited about it."

Holly Holm, Rousey's new opponent had been crowned as Ring Magazine Female Fighter of the Year in 2005 and 2006. She had also bagged the Women's Number One Pound-for-Pound Fighter title in 2013.

Rousey said that Holly was the most dangerous and accomplished striker she had ever faced.

Earlier this month, White and Rousey had confirmed that top-ranked contender Meisha Tate would get the third crack for the UFC women's bantamweight title against Rousey, reported Los Angeles Times.

UFC title challenger Meisha took to the social media to vent her disappointment on the promoter's decision to book a Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey bout.

"I am extremely disappointed how all the events unfolded this morning regarding news that I will not be fighting Ronda Rousey," she told her 500,000 Instagram followers. "I was told after my last win that I had earned the title shot."

"I've already begun training for Rousey and I was shocked to hear the announcement this morning," Meisha said.

"I regret this for not only myself, but my team, sponsors and the fans that like me believed my next fight was for the title," she was quoted as saying in a report by MMAJunkie.

However, UFC President White told the reporters that it is "in Tate's best interest to avoid a potential third loss to Rousey." She added, "Everyone has seen the Miesha (vs. Ronda Rousey) fight already."

The tickets for Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey fight that takes place on Saturday, Jan 2, 2016 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Los Vegas will go on sale on October 23, 2015.
