Will Simon Cowell be a judge at next year's "America's Got Talent"?

According to rumors, NBC is purportedly trying to strike a deal with Simon Cowell for the TV talent search. The price for Cowell to come to "America's Got Talent" - $10 Million, according to reports.

Simon is allegedly set to fill in for media mogul Howard Stern who will be departing the series.

"NBC has been really pushing to get Simon to the table. They need a big name to take over for Howard," a source close to the situation told Dish Nation. "Simon's role as Mr. Nasty in America has always been a huge draw and with the departure of Stern, he is their best choice at the moment."

Despite the attractive offer however, it may purportedly be difficult to accept the offer because of his current projects, including "Britain's Got Talent" in ITV.

"He hasn't been on American TV now for a couple of years, but he can't just give up his UK commitments for the US and will have to work things out with ITV - although that is his priority," the source added.

"Things are very hush-hush at the moment."

Amid an alleged "America's Got Talent" offer, Simon Cowell is purportedly cooking up strategies to make "X Factor" more interesting to get higher ratings.

"He warned judges Cheryl Fernandez- Versini, 32, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw none of them is safe from the axe," Daily Star reported.

"X Factor is back on telly on Saturday and ITV chiefs are hoping ratings will be up on last year, when the show was beaten by Strictly every weekend. Simon is planning to keep a close eye on which aspects are going down well with viewers."

Simon Cowell has been known for his bluntly harsh comments on the performances of contestants in "American Idol." Fans will have to wait and see if things would work out, allowing the music mentor to accept NBC's "America's Got Talent" offer.
