While most people would have gotten drunk on their birthdays, newly signed Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin was working to bring back Linsanity to the game.
The former Los Angeles Lakers point guard shared on Facebook a photo of him shooting jumpshots alone in the gym.
Jeremy Lin wrote, "The only birthday shots i want are these lol #morninghoops #timeforchurch."
One fan greeted, "Happy Birthday Jeremy Lin:) be the Linsanity again."
Another wrote, "Happy Birthday Jeremy!!! I wish you the best of luck next season! Keep believing!!! #Ingodwetrust."
"Happy Birthday Jeremy Lin!!!!! You're still a big inspiration to me and hope to be just like you one day. Linsanity," another added.
The 27-year-old player earned the Linsanity moniker following an amazing run with the New York Knicks under Mike D'Antoni when he averaged about 20 points and 10 assists back. Jeremy Lin exploits got the media's attention because of two things: Carmelo Anthony was injured and it was rare for a backup Asian player to achieved the feat.
That also got him a huge contract with the Houston Rockets which was later absorbed by the Los Angeles Lakers when he was traded in the 2013-2014 season.
Jeremy Lin has since distanced himsef from Linsanity.
After a failed experiment with the Los Angeles Lakers, Jeremy Lin signed with the Charlotte Hornets during the free agency for $2 million a year.
In the introductory press conference from the Charlotte Hornets, Jeremy Lin took a subtle dig at the Los Angeles Lakers coach when he said, "Just having that open line of communication early and being proactive about it was very big for me."
It was long rumored that Jeremy Lin and Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott were not seeing eye-to-eye on the offense. While the Taiwanese point guard excels in pick-and-roll, the former Showtime member prefers the Princeton offense which takes the ball away from the point guard.
