Eva Mendes displayed what looked like an engagement ring, which fueled rumors that she's set to marry Ryan Gosling after giving birth to baby Esmeralda in September last year.

"Mendes has been spotted wearing a huge ring on her finger pretty much daily for the past few weeks," noted Huffington Post. "Ok, so it's on her right hand and it's not a diamond, but could the 41-year-old actress just be trying to put us all off the scent?"

Eva Mendes again displayed the "engagement ring" when she posted on Instagram a dress from her clothing line. Ryan Gosling's girlfriend wrote, "Bold print from our new @nyandcompany collection. Hope you guys love it as much as I do. Necklace also from the collection. Available online and in stores now. x #evamendesnyc."

In December last year, Eva Mendes appeared on The Ellen DeGerenes Show where she explained the reason why they name their daughter Esmeralda.

"We both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and just think it is a beautiful name," she said. "Her middle is Amada, which was my grandmother's name. It means 'beloved' in Spanish. We were really excited about naming her."

The model also apologized for lying to Ellen DeGeneres when she told the talk show host that she wasn't pregnant.

But OK! Magazine reported that if indeed Eva Mendes is engaged to Ryan Gosling, it's unlikely that the couple will tell the public about it.

"We barely knew Eva was even pregnant with their daughter Esmeralda!" the article said. "If it isn't an engagement ring, it's possible that the ring is a make-up present, after OK! exclusively reported in June that the photogenic couple was having serious relationship issues."

According to the tabloid, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling were constantly bickering about how to raise baby Esmeralda and also whether they are ready to take the next step in their relationship.
