Fox News Anchor Harris Faulkner Sues Hasbro Over Toy Hamster; Says It's 'Insulting And Demeaning'

Fox News Anchor Harris Faulkner had covered everything from the fall of world leaders to presidential elections. Recently, she sued toy giant, Hasbro Inc. for turning her into a hamster.

The six-time Emmy winner has filed the papers in a New Jersey Federal Court. Fox News Anchor, Harris Faulkner said she'd suffered substantial emotional and commercial damage from a plastic hamster doll, which shares her name and resembles her features.

"Harris Faulkner, the uniquely named, acclaimed veteran journalist and author, has worked for decades to establish and maintain her personal brand and laudable professional reputation," her $5 million lawsuit said, reported the NY Daily.

Her lawsuit has dragged the world's third-largest toy manufacturer Hasbro Inc. to the court for "willfully and wrongfully" appropriating Falkner's unique and valuable name along with her distinctive persona for their financial gain, New York Daily News reported.

The report added, "The creating, manufacturing, and distributing for sale a plastic toy hamster named 'Harris Faulkner,'" was deemed as demeaning and insulting by the Fox News Anchor Harris Faulkner.

The cartoon hamster was a part of the Hasbro's latest reboot of the brand "Littlest Pet Shop," which in 2014. It was sold in a package with another Yorkie terrier by the name of Benson Detwyler.

Deadline.com reported that Faulkner's lawyers had sent a notice about the matter to Hasbro in January '15 but no action was taken. The notice had stated that the toy infringed on on her name and her physical features.

Reporters added that the toy was available for purchase off Hasbro's online store until this summer. However, "It can still be bought on Amazon and through other online sites," NYPost.com said.

The toy's packaging is another factor that is making the Fox News anchor enraged. The packaging states that it is a "Choking Hazard."

Hasbro which also makes Play-Doh, Nerf Balls and numerous board games has not responded to request for comment on the lawsuit filed by Fox News Anchor Harris Faulkner.
