Google will be revealing its two new Nexus smartphones, LG's Nexus 5 and Huawei's Nexus 6, in a press event in San Francisco on Sept. 29.

"One smartphone will be a smaller version of a Nexus phone made by LG, while the second will be a larger version of a device built by Huawei," reported CNET.

As the publication pointed out, the Nexus smartphones are considered Google's "flagship" devices, offering the latest Android software. Both smartphones are expected to run Android 6.0, called the Marshmallow.

It was said that Android enthusiasts tend to gravitate towards the Google Nexus for they believed that it offered the "purest" Android experience.

Multiple reports suggest that smaller Nexus 5 is made by LG while the Nexus 6 (2015) is manufactured by Huawei.

The publication added that the highly anticipated Google Nexus launch will be critical for the Chinese company, given that it wanted to expand its reach to the Western markets. It was said that they are trying to make more high-end smartphones and better build its brand.

"Having Google partner with the company on a Nexus smartphone gives Huawei additional credibility in the Android community," Roger Cheng of CNET added.

Meanwhile, it has yet to be confirmed as to how much the new smartphones, LG's Nexus 5 and Huawei's Nexus 6, will be priced. Given that the handset vendors are trying to make smartphones more affordable, it is expected that the new Nexus will not burn a hole in the consumers' pockets.

"The new Nexus 5 may not come with top-of-the-line specs, which means that the phone might not have a price as high as the Motorola-made Nexus 6 (2014)," reported IBN Live.

"It seems that Google is not going to repeat its Nexus 6 pricing mistake and is going to make the (2015) Nexus 5 available at a competitive price."
