Victoria's Secret Model Yfke Sturm, who recently became a mum, is battling for her life. Recently, she was involved in a horrific jet surf accident.

The 33-year old model was left in coma with a fractured skull and severe spinal injuries after the tragedy struck. Stuff.co.nz reported that Yfke had fallen off a motorized surfboard and was swimming to shore of the Italian Island of Ischia, when another rider hit her. Reporters added that she had been airlifted to a hospital in Naples, where she still remains in coma.

Mirror.co.uk reported that Victoria's Secret model Yfke Sturm's believed to be at serious risk of permanent paralysis. However, her reps are still to comment on her condition.

Recently, the supermodel had shared a picture along with her newborn son. "Words can not descibe how excited we are for the arrival of our son Alexander!" she captioned the photograph. It is believed that she welcomed her son with a 24-year-old French supermodel Constance Jablonski, Mirror reported.

Reporters added that Victoria's Secret model Yfke Sturm had been previously married to businessman Imad Izemrane. The London-based Dutch model's career took off in 1997, when she had won an International Elite Model Look contest. She was only 15 years old at that time.

The Dutch beauty has modeled for Chanel, Victoria's Secret and Marc Jacob. She has even hosted a reality TV show namely, Holland's "Next Top Model." She also serves as an ambassador for the Dutch Red Cross Foundation.

People reported that Yfke has woken up from a medically induced coma. They reportedly said that she had fractured her skull and several vertebrae during the accident.

On Friday, Victoria's Secret model Yfke Sturm's father had told the Telegraaf that Yfke had a "hairline fracture in her skull" with "no bleeding."

"We are shocked to hear about this terrible accident," a spokesperson for "Next Models" told The Telegraaf. He added, "Our thoughts are with Yfke and her family at this time and we are praying for her speedy recovery."
