Recently, Queen Elizabeth II achieved a milestone by becoming the "Longest Reigning Monarch of Britain." But, VCpost.com reported that a Queen Elizabeth II may step down from the throne could change the course of history of England. Reports said that Her Majesty had been planning to push aside the first heir, her son Prince Charles to crown her grandson Prince William and Kate Middleton as the new King and Queen of England.

A royal source told OK! that Queen Elizabeth II's decision to step down from the British Throne and crown grandson Prince William and Kate as the King and Queen was indeed very wise. He said, the longest reigning monarch just chose her grandson over the first heir as they were "simply far more beloved than (Prince) Charles ever was."

Before the official "Queen Elizabeth II step down," Her Majesty had a confrontation with Prince Charles, the first heir to the throne. An insider revealed that it was a "hard pill" for Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles to swallow. He added that initially, Charles was angry and ranting that the throne was his right. Later, he understood that it was the "best for the crown to skip a generation, for the sake of keeping the royal family relevant and vital," Hollywood Life reported.

"They're (Kate Middleton and Prince Williams were) stunned," a palace source told OK! . He added that the couple was surprised by Queen Elizabeth II's decision to step down. But, the idea of bypassing aside Prince Charles for the "good of monarchy" had left them bemused. Reports said that Kate was overwhelmed when she first heard the news and the next thing she did was call her mum and dad.

However, no official statement has been made yet, a source told the Venture Capitalist Post that Queen Elizabeth II's abdication was most likely to happen after her 90th birthday celebrations. Reports said that the coronation may possibly take place in April 2016 at Westminster Abbey, the same church where Kate and William tied the knot.
