One of the most anticipated and entertaining parts of the new drama "Dating Agency: Cyrano" is the cameo appearances. And this week, it's Lee Taemin, the youngest member of the group SHINee, who will make one of those cameo appearances. He plays an idol student who needs expert help to realize his crush. So, he goes to the Cyrano Dating Agency for some romantic advice.
With the cameo appearance of Taemin, there will be two kpop stars in the show. Girls Generation's Sooyoung plays a member of the dating agency that specializes in helping the romantically challenged.
Taemin did not hesitate to take the part.
"I was completely into the script as soon as I read it," said Taemin, who previously appeared in "Tae Hee, Hye Kyo, Ji Hyun" when he was only 10.
However, he wished it had taken a little longer for the series to get to his character.
"It was slightly worrying that I'm the client in such an early episode, but it was enjoyable and the atmosphere on set was great. I hope viewers will enjoy it as I worked hard on my part."
Before Taemin's role, cameo appearances were already made by Lee Chung Ah as a ballerina who likes a wine waiter, Im Hyung Joon as a veterinarian in love with a librarian, Lee Yoon Ji as the librarian, and Ji Jin Hee as Min Young's client at a previous agency. Choi Won Young is also expected to do a cameo performance in the series.
But there are few details about how the plot will unfold.
"I can't reveal specific details of the six characters but they will all be clients or the clients' targets," said director Kang Hee Jun. "They will be the stars of their respective episodes."
The series stars Lee Jong Hyuk as Seo Byung Hoon, a man who decides to save his late friend's theater troupe by forming the Cyrano Dating Agency. Choi Sooyoung plays Gong Min Young, the most romantic member of the dating agency. Sure her client's true feelings matter, she regularly disagrees with Byung Hoon's priorities.
Lee Chun Hee plays Cha Seung Pyo, the mysterious chef of the restaurant next door.
Hong Jong Hyun plays Moo Jin, who mans the agency's gadgetry. Jo Yoon Woo plays agency member Ah-Rang, a high school student who dreams of becoming an actor.
The series is based on the film Cyrano Dating Agency about a dating agency that orchestrates romantic scenarios for paying clients. It is the fourth in tvN's "Oh Boy" project, following the successful "Flower Boy Ramen Shop," "Shut Up Flower Boy Band" and "Flower Boy Next Door." It was originally called "Flower Boy Dating Agency."
