America's favorite TV dad, Bill Cosby was accused for drugging and sexually assaulting at least 50 women and Beverly Johnson claims she fell victim to the actor in the 1980s.
"I forgive you (Bill Cosby)," Beverly Johnson said on "Good Morning America," when asked about what she would say to Bill if given the opportunity.
In an article titled "Bill Cosby Drugged Me. This Is My Story," Beverly Johnson wrote that she was awestruck by Bill Cosby's command over popular culture. She added that he was the first African American at that time to feature on "I Spy," a TV show that her family avidly followed. She accepted that she found him "funny, smart and even elegant."
Beverly Johnson said that she was overjoyed when an agent had called her to say that Bill Cosby had wanted her to audition for a role on "The Cosby Show."
"(Bill) Cosby played an obstetrician, and he sometimes used models to portray pregnant women sitting in his office waiting room," Johnson wrote. She added, "It was a small part with one or two speaking lines at most, but I wanted in."
Amidst an ugly child custody battle, Beverly need her "big break." She wanted to appear on "The Cosby Show" to grab Hollywood's attention. So, she met him a couple of times until he invited her over to the Cosby house over the pretext of reading her part for "The Cosby Show."
"Cosby said he wanted to see how I handled various scenes, so he suggested that I pretend to be drunk," Beverly wrote in her article. On her second sip, Johnson knew that she had been drugged.
She then became a victim of Bill Cosby's seething anger.
"Grabbing me by my left arm hard and yanking all 110 pounds of me down a bunch of stairs as my high heels clicked and clacked on every step (he dragged her out of the house), she said.
She added, "I feared my neck was going to break with the force he was using to pull me down those stairs." Then, he shoved her into a taxi that drove her to her apartment.
