The final two classic teams in NBA 2k16 were finally named. Meanwhile, those who order the Michael Jordan Special Edition will get their copies four days before the Sept. 29 release date.
The final two teams are the 06-'07 Cleveland Cavaliers featuring a young Lebron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Carlos Boozer, and the '03-'04 Minnesota Timberwolves with the trio of Kevin Garnett, Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell.
They will join 10 other Classic Teams that were previously announced to join the holdover teams from the NBA 2K15.
The 10 teams in the classic mode are: '99-'00 Trail Blazers, 2000 Raptors, '00-'01 Lakers, '02-'03 Mavericks, '03-'04 Pistons, '04-'05 Phoenix Suns, '05-'06 Miami Heat, '07-08 Boston Celtics, 2008 Rockets, and '12-'13 Miami Heat.
Fans would eagerly anticipate the NBA 2K16 release date because they can play Vince Carter in his prime, as well as the championship Pistons team featuring Chauncey Billups, Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace and Richard Hamilton that beat a juggernaut in the Los Angeles Lakers featuring Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone and Gary Payton.
Michael Jordan released a statement in signing again with NBA 2K16.
"I'm excited about this year's NBA 2K's Special Edition," he said. "NBA 2K16 allows gamers young and old to not only experience and re-create some of my greatest moments on the basketball court but also customize their players with Jordan shoes and apparel."
According to Sporting News, those who order the Michael Jordan Special Edition will also get the following:
- A poster of Michael Jordan's NBA 2k16 image
- A Jordan t-shirt that can be accessed through the MyPLAYER option
- A Jordan shoes for MyPLAYER
- A Jordan jersey for MyPLAYER
- A fathead wall cling
- 30,000 in virtual currency that can be used to buy goods within the game
- MyTEAM VIP+: three Emerald Packs and Special Edition Exclusive Moments Card.
However, the Michael Jordan Special Edition will only be available for PS4 and Xbox One. Watch out for more NBA 2K16 updates before the release date rolls along.
