Megan Fox will be seen in New Girl season five since Zooey Deschanel is currently on maternity leave. Deschanel who is reportedly busy looking after her one month old daughter would probably be back in the next season.

The 29-year-old actress who is replacing Deschanel temporarily will be playing a character Reagen in the New Girl season 5. Reagen would show up in the series as a tenant renting Jess' (Deschanel) apartment, according to Mail Online.

New Girl Season five production work which is scheduled to start this month will premiere in January, 2016. The transformer star will be seen in the drama as a gorgeous looking, straight-shooting pharmaceutical-based sales representative relocating to the town on business.

Fox early in her career had played Kelly Ripa's niece in two seasons of the series Hope and Faith and most remarkably in one episode of Two And A Half Men season one.

Liz Meriwether, the New Girl's creator/executive producer noted about Fox that "It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it." Meriwether added that "I've been a fan of her comedic skills since "This Is 40," and I'm so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part - she's the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up," reported Deadline Hollywood.

Deschanal's character as Jess in the story will be sequestered for the whole season starting episode six in the name of jury duty. She is let alone for the time being to enjoy her motherhood. As a matter of fact Deschanel has had her very first daughter with her husband Jacob Pechenik in August.
