HBO is planning to make "Game of Thrones" into a movie after the successful completion of eight thrilling seasons. The inspiration behind the movie, "Game of Thrones" is the tremendous support of fans.
The HBO series bagged a number of awards at the Emmy's this year. It also set a new record on awards won by a single series. George RR Martin, the author of the book which is adapted into TV series said after the HBO party that the "Game of Thrones" movie idea is true but he will not be involved in it.
Martin noted that David Benioff and DB Weiss who write for the show will be associated with the film, according to First Post.
Martin who is busy writing the final two books of the series said "I have too much to do," said Martin who is writing the final two episodes of the series.
"That is something HBO and the DB and David are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do. The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don't write faster," said the author.
This is not a novel idea for HBO since the channel is used to making films from its super hit TV series. The "Sex And The City" TV series was successfully transformed into two films which were released in 2008 and 2010.
According to a source close to the story, the team has begun making a movie format of "Game of Thrones." The unnamed source also noted that the team is focusing on resurrecting previous characters in the series: Catelyn Stark, Robb Stark, Oberyn Martell, The Red Viper and Ned Stark, reported Latinos Post.
"With the "Game of Thrones" universe, there is... rich material and no constraints on when that story will take place. They are looking at dipping back in time during certain periods of the series, which could be examined as a one off plot," noted the source.
