Google Combats Tablet Market With Android Based Google Pixel C

Google Pixel C launched by the tech giant which recently changed its name to "Alphabet" was one of the biggest surprises to come out of Google's completely packed hardware event, reported Mashable.com.

It also termed it to be one of the perfect tablets for Android users. Pixel C where 'C' stands for Convertible is a premium tablet hybrid that starts with $499. It also has an option for additional keyboard that is available at an extra cost of $149.

The device runs on an Android OS and is expected to use Android 6.0 Marshmallow rather than the Chrome OS. The tablet has been designed completely in-house by Google and shares its several attributes with Chromebook Pixel.

The new the Pixel C comes with 10.2" IPS display with a resolution of 2560x1800. This means it boasts of a pixel density of 308ppi. According to Google, the tablet's aspect ratio is the square root of two which is accurate up to 2560/1800 and around 1.42. Its display showcases allows for higher brightness and greater efficiency as it uses an expensive LTPS backplane instead of a-Si one. However, Google felt it necessary to use LTPS backplane in order to achieve 500nit brightness, said AnandTech.

The new Google Pixel C attempts to be the best 2-in-1 Android tablet available and also attempts to be the best competition to Microsoft Surface as well, stated Engadget. It also certified the tablet as one of the most elegant tablets available crafted out of anodized aluminum with smooth texture and extremely light in weight.

The tablet comes with external keyboard that it keeps it intact with magnets, said Digitrends. The setting up process of tablet to use like a laptop is a little tedious. Google team explained they fit the keys on the keyboard in am manner such that the symbol keys are not pushed farther to perimeter, reported Gizmodo.
