Google Reveals Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date, Smrtphones 5X, 6P and ChromeCast

At a much hyped Google event, the company finally revealed the release date for the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow which will be next week. The new Marshmallow intends to make notifications more consistent and more intuitive search functions. It also gives more privacy options to users and comes with much wanted improving battery life feature. One of the most prominent features that will be coming with the new Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow will be Now On Tap. It integrates Google searches and voice interactions into individual apps, revealed The Verge.

Google SmartPhones 6P and 5X

Google also revealed the new Google Nexus 6P and 5X smartphones as well at the show. Although, most of the images were already leaked on the internet prior to the event, nevertheless, users were happy to know the new phones will come with Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed in the handsets, said The Verge.

The 6P is equipped with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 12.3-megapixel Sony sensor on the back, which can take 4K video and slow-motion shots. It will be available in frost white, aluminum, and graphite. Google has already started taking pre-orders for the phone in the US, the UK, Ireland, Korea and Japan. However, the actual phones will be shipped out later in October.

Both phones will be coming with single nano sim card slots with support for 4G LTE bands. Nexus 5X is priced at $379 for the 16GB model and $429 for the 32GB model. Nexus 6P is priced at $499, $549 and $649 for the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacity variants respectively, reported The FirstPost.

Google Chromecast

Google also revealed two new Chromecast streaming devices one for television and one for speakers. The device beams content from mobile phones to TV or speakers via the internet. It directly competes with Apple TV but at much cheaper price. While Apple TV costs $140, Chromcast costs on $35 acting as a waypoint between phones and TVs.
