Rumored for release five months ago, Google Inc (GOOGL) 's Nexus has unveiled its 5X at an event San Francisco, Calif. It will replace the familiar Nexus 5, which is now outdated by two ears, MSN reported.

Since the Nexus 5x will enjoy its reign as the new-gen Android tech gadget for some time, analysts at MSN.com have compared it to some of the best 5-inchers available on the market: Galaxy S6, Sony Corp 's (SNE) Xperia Z5, OnePlus 2, Moto G and Moto X Play.

As far as design is concerned, the Nexus 5X comes in a 146.9 x 72.6 x 7.9mm size weighing 136gms. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back, as opposed to Apple iPhone's original sensor found on the front. The newest addition to the Nexus brand, three models exist for Google's successful mobile phone repertoire - black, pink and white. This puts the 5x slightly higher than the Sony Xperia Z5, the Samsung Galaxy 6 and the Motorola Moto G. However, it is still smaller than the Moto X Play and the One Plus 2.

The Nexus 5X, highly anticipated by mobile users and analysts alike, is going to be the lightest smartphone on the market, which gives the Nexus a disntinnct advantage. Both the OnePlus 2 and the Nexus 5X carry a Type-C USB.

Mimicking the Sony Xperia Z5, the 5x carries a 5.2 inch HD display with 423 pixel density. In contrast, Samsung which made up for its low performance with Galaxy S5 with the release of Galaxy S6, currently tops clarity with 575 ppi. The Moto X Play and OnePlus 2 have bigger sizes at 5.5 inches but the pixel densities are lower at 403 ppi.

"Nexus 5X has a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, IF laser-assisted autofocus and a dual-flash. The rear camera sensor also has larger pixels that Google claims will aid better low light shots. The front camera is 5-megapixels," according to MSN's analysis of the camera on the new Android.

Both the OnePlus 2 and the Motorola Moto G compete in the same range with the 5X camera features with 13-megapixels and the Samsung makes its mark on rear cameras with a 16-megapixel sensor.

What about hardware? A Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, an Adreno 418 graphics and 2GB of RAM (that's as much as memory as you would find in a standard laptop) drive the new Nexus 5X. The rich features on Google's Nexus 5X are supporte by a 2700mAh battery. For storage, the 16GB model is doubled up in memory on the 32GB version of the Nexus 5X.

Samsung is an exception when it comes to hardware since it has an in-house Exynos processor along with a Mali GPU. The Xperia Z5 is superior to the Nexus 5X in memory because it has a microSD card feature.

A discussion of Nexus 5X software will include the brand new release of Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This is an exclusive offering since the other brands in the article have Android Lollipop. The OnePlus 2 is an exception with Android 5.1 base OxygenOS.

The Nexus 5X represents a Android with no extras, "clean software experience." A few more extras will be included on Motorola, while other aforementioned brands will either have some kind of software duplication.

And of course, the price will be a deciding factor since Samsung and other rivals were out to compete with Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S released this year. The Nexus 5X will fetch its highest price for the 32 GB ($758) while the 16GB might be slightly more affordable at $678. If you're on a budget, the Motorola Moto G is your best bet at about $380 for the 16GB version.

"If you want the highest spec, you'll need to look towards the Sony Xperia Z5 or the Samsung Galaxy S6, but you'll pay the price for those," MSN shared. "If your budget is lower but you still want a good handset, both the Motorola's are good.

Google's recently announced Nexus 5X is smack in the middle when it comes to specs, features, and price. A good phone at a good price!
