Auli'i Cravalho from Hawaii will voice the character of "Moana" Disney Princess in the animation movie "Moana."
The 14-year-old Cravalho was announced to be the voice to the lead role in the animated flick "Moana" on Wednesday. The teen that is all set to play the brave young girl in the movie was found by a casting agent at a charity singing competition in Oahu, Hawaii, according to People.
Cravalho was then taken to Los Angeles to meet the directors Ron Clements and John Musker. Soon after meeting the directors the simple little girl became the voice of "Moana" Disney Princess in the film slated to be released on November 23, 2016. A chance encounter helped the teen with singing talent to play the princess opposite to the famous Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
"From baby time to now, I wanted to be a Disney princess and then I wanted to be a singer or an actress," revealed Cravalho about her dream. She also added that she never thought she would make it as "Moana" Disney Princess when the movie crew started searching for a teen online.
The Hawaiian girl who was through freshman year during the audition never thought she would outsmart so many great submissions on You Tube. Cravalho has bagged the wonderful opportunity of giving voice to the princess, a teen from 2,000 years ago who is in a mission to fulfil her ancestors' quest.
"Moana is such an amazing character," Cravalho told People. "She's brave, she is so empowered, she knows what she wants and she's not afraid to get it, and I think that's something that I can relate to as well. I just love watching how she goes along in this wonderful movie and grows as a person and helps her culture along the way," reported Yahoo Movies.
