After 18 long years a new "Power Rangers" film is scheduled to be released in 2017 and the actress Naomi Scott will play the Pink Power Ranger.
The 22-year-old actress who appeared in the blockbuster movie "The Martian" released on October 2 is officially announced to be playing the role of Pink Power Ranger in the upcoming movie. Scott who began her acting career at as young as 15 was first seen in the Disney Channel UK series, Life Bites, according to Movie Pilot.
"It's official! #NaomiScott will play the #PinkRanger in the @PowerRangersMovie! Coming in 2017..." confirmed the official Power Rangers movie Instagram page October, 7. After the official announcement Naomi posted an Instagram photo with the caption, "I'm done," reported Hollywood Life. Following the Instagram post she also noted on Twitter that "I'm freaking out."
The television debut of Power Rangers started through "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series in 1993 which was followed by a movie in 1995 with the same title. The original cast of the movie include Amy Jo Johnson, Johnny Yong Bosch, Karan Ashley, Jason David Frank, Steve Cardenas and David Yost.
Scott who is all set to play the Pink Power Ranger is born in England to Ugandan mother of Indian descent and a British father. She is married to Milton Keynes Dons defender fame Jordan Spence last year. The upcoming actress is also a talented musician who was a part of British church youth band before getting on board with British pop singer Kelly Bryan.
The Power Rangers movie portrays the lives of six teenage friends tasked to save the world from extra-terrestrial beings. Amy Jo Johnson played the Pink Power Ranger in the movie released couple of decades back and was most admired as Pink Ranger. Only one of the six rangers is chosen by the movie crew by far and five other actors to play super powerful rangers are expected to be revealed soon.
