Jim Carrey attended his late ex-girlfriend Cathriona White's funeral at Cappawhite in Ireland on Saturday.
Carrey who appeared very heartbroken was one of the six pall bearers that shouldered the coffin to the graveyard following Saturday morning mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church in the village of Cappawhite in County Tiperrary, reported Yahoo. Carrey also posted a photo of him and White in Twitter the following evening captioned "Love Cannot Be Lost."
Carrey who was not seen at her wake on Friday is said have flown to Ireland in a private jet to attend her funeral the next day. Other than White's family members, 200 attendees including Carrey were gathered for the funeral ceremony. Carrey looked miserable carrying White's casket with one of her brothers James White and four other men.
"We need to find comfort for each other. There is no easy fix for grief," said Sarah White, Cathriona White's step-sister during the eulogy. "Particularly when we have lost somebody so young with so much left to give. But to paraphrase the song "Oh, the sharp knife of a short life, send me away with the words of a lovesong." Thankfully, love is not as fickle and unpredictable as life is. As long as you are loved, you are here. You are so loved," she added.
Meanwhile an insider told People that Carrey was terribly upset over Cathriona White's unfortunate demise during the funeral service. The source also noted that it was really nice of him to have carried the coffin and Cathriona's family were really pleased to have him there.
"Cathriona was a light to so many. Something of the light has gone out. Yet much remains. The light continues to shine. The light of love lives on; the love you had for Cathriona; the love she had for you," said Parish Priest Tadhg Furlong who paid tribute to Cathriona White.
