Adele "Hello," the new single is a massive hit in the YouTube for it has been viewed more than 90 million times since it was released.
Adele released her new single "Hello" on Friday from her upcoming album "25" which is considered as her come-back album. It has been three years since fans heard from the British pop star and the Adele "Hello" is undoubtedly a feast for their long wait. According to YouTube the song was played one million times per hour through the past two days making it the biggest video of the current year by far, according to The Wall Street Journal.
"It's not data we track often," said Kevin Allocca, head of Culture and Trends at YouTube about the rare event. "It happens occasionally when you have something really big where you have a lot of people talking about it. [There's] a lot of interest in a very concentrated amount of time," he added.
Adele "Hello" also set a new record for music-video site Vevo which reported 27.7 million views on the day the song was released. The video was reportedly shot by Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan in Imax cameras featuring Adele and Tristan Wilds.
"Two of the biggest cultural things that we have are music and film," said Allocca about the large number of hits. "When a new music video comes out like this, it's a cultural phenomenon. It's not just people sampling the song. They want to talk about it and bring their take to it," he noted.
Adele "Hello" is the topper of the itunes sales chart for the past couple of days. Meanwhile the pre-order of the album Adele "25" also tops the itunes sales chart. Adele "25" album is slated to be released on November 22 and we expect to hear more of Adele through the upcoming weeks.
