Rihanna landed a major project on the big screen alongside her BFF supermodel Cara Delavigne. Yes! Rihanna, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" sci-fi movie is confirmed, announced the director Luc Besson.

Rihanna and Delavigne will be seen together in the upcoming science fiction film "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" by the renowned director Besson. The famous ladies are set to star with the leading men Dane DeHaan and Clive Owen in the movie, according to People.

"RIHANNA is in VALERIAN!!!!! ...and she has a big part!! I'm Sooo excited!!!" announced director Besson on Instagram. Rihanna, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" movie is an adaptation of the French graphic novel series of the same name written by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres.

The plot of the movie is set in 28th century where the time-traveling agent Valerian (DeHaan) with his partner Laureline (Delevingne) will be sent to galactic empire for investigation. The two gorgeous ladies will reportedly begin shooting for the film in France starting next January.

The "Valerian" is the third major project of the famous pop star, she debuted in a film named "Battleship" in 2012 and she also voiced an animated film "Home." She also played minor roles in movies "This Is The End," and "Annie." As far as Rihanna's music career is concerned she is working on her upcoming album "Anti" which is the eighth album in her career by far.

Rihanna released the cover art of her album "Anti" recently featuring a message written in Braille. "The whole idea behind the Braille is that people who have sight are sometimes the people who are blindest," noted the singer about the cover art, reported The Guardian.

Rihanna "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" sci-fi movie is slated to be released in theatres on July 21, 2017.
