The upcoming Thursday's Episode five of "Vampire Diaries" Season seven promises to explain the future of Stefan( Paul Wesley) and Caroline's (Candice Accola-King) relationship.

According to IBTimes.co.in, the teaser trailer reveals episode five, in which Caroline sends Stefan to meet ValerieTulle, his first love.

Caroline is shown to have good intentions in the episode, but Valerie has not still given up on Stephan and their encounter is supposed to create huge differences between Stephan and Caroline.

In the earlier episodes of the seventh season of "Vampire Diaries", there were many hints about the two characters not being together, which was shown with the help of three-year-time-jump.

Caroline's secretary mentioned Stephan's name and how she made clear that she didn't want to hear his name again. In the upcoming episode, Valerie's pregnancy news has been revealed out to Stephan. Though Stephan's reaction to the news have not been clearly depicted in the episode, but his hesitation to share the news with Caroline is very apparent.

When asked about the Caroline-Stephan-Valerie drama during an interview with TVLine, Caroline Dries, executive producer of the show said," Valerie is part of the reason, but it's a much bigger, more emotional, legit reason.

It's beyond petty jealousy or Stefan cheating on Caroline or anything like that. Stefan's split in the future wouldn't only be because of Valerie." Dries quoted ," This season is about our characters growing up and becoming adults.

He'll keep thinking, 'I could have been a dad.' We had many ideas for their backstory, but we felt this was the most symbolic and thematic". She also said," Stefan's almost-parenthood is something he will be really thinking about as we move forward in the season. He'll keep thinking."

The "Vampire Diaries" season seven airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
