"Jurassic World" was believed to be having a sequel in the making but it turns out to be that there isn't going to be one movie but two. Yes! "Jurassic World" is set as a trilogy.
Universal Pictures' Chairman Donna Langley confirmed during a conversation with Hollywood Reporters that "Jurassic World" is being made into a trilogy. Langley also noted that Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg are working on the plot of the upcoming movies, according to Polygon.
"There's no reason why we should [have trouble]," said Langley about the idea of trilogy. "Colin Trevorrow is busy working on an outline. He's been working with Steven. And they have an idea for the next two movies actually. It was designed as a trilogy, unbeknown to us. It's a happy surprise," she added, reported Film.
While the director Trevorrow has already confirmed that "Jurassic World" 2 will be different from the usual park based theme, "Jurassic World" 3 will undoubtedly have an exciting new plot. Trevorrow also noted that audience have given him the needed freedom to work on the movie and take it to the next level.
The director also noted that he is not focussing on making the movie a bigger and a better one in terms of using bigger, better or more dinosaurs but the plot. He added that he is planning to make the story an intense one, portray dinosaurs' relationship with people and the dynamics created by bringing those animals back to life.
Trevorrow said that he and his cowriter Derek Connolly are focussing on a quote used by paleontologist Alan Grant played by Sam Neill in the original version. The inspirational words are "Dinosaurs and man, separated by 65 million years of evolution, have been thrown back into the mix together. How can we know what to expect?" noted Trevorrow according to KDrama Stars.
