H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB, a Swedish Multinational, retail clothing company, released the first images of Katy Perry's "Christmas Holiday Collection Campaign," during their official Press release on November 9, 2015. Last year Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett lead the charge for H&M's festive campaign. For 2015, Katy Perry is the new face and voice of H&M which signed her up in July, 2015 for their Christmas holiday campaigns.
Katy Perry, 31, has also recorded her first Christmas song, "Every Day Is a Holiday," for H&M's clothing advertisement. The song is produced by Duke Dumont. The new track is full of beats and energy rather than a Christmas Ballard. According to Telegraph.co.uk, the commercial shows Perry dancing and enjoying with life-sized gingerbread men, giant teddy bears and oversized presents.
"It's every artists dream to have their own Christmas song, and starring in the H&M campaign gave me the perfect opportunity," quoted the Forbes richest female singer, reported the Telegraph.co.uk.
Katy Perry added, "I had such a festive time shooting this larger-than-life holiday commercial with Jonas Åkerlund, and all of the fun clothes, especially my favorite, the Elfie Selfie sweater, the DailyMail said. I can't wait for you to give your wardrobe some sparkle with this magical holiday collection."
She added that H&M has been a part of her personal style of clothing since she was a teenager.
Katy's appearance in the campaign commercial and the print advertisement is a blend of glamour, style and fun. The "Firework" singer was seen wearing vibrant red outfits, open sleeve-tuxedos and an embroidered T-shirt with a large sequin red bow. According to HM.com, the commercial advertisement track sung by Katy Perry for the holiday collection campaign will be aired on November 23, 2015 at hm.com/life.
The DubaiChronicle quoted Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M's Head of Design as saying the new collection from H&M promises refreshing outfits for everyone, from party perfect dresses to casual comfortable basics like sweaters, just to hang out with friends and family. The collection is already available online on HM.com for preseason sales and will also hit the stores by mid-November.
This Christmas season, H&M is also going to support impoverished children in Rakhine State Myanmar, with its specially-designed gift cards, by donating five per cent of its profit to UNICEF. Through such gift card campaign, UNICEF and H&M's "Conscious Foundation" aim to reach more than 350,000 children and provide them with quality primary and secondary school education.
