Actor Jason Priestley was admitted to a hospital on Monday after he was thrown off a horse while shooting a scene for his upcoming ABC drama, "The Code."

Priestley took to micro-blogging site Twitter to update fans about his health and thank them for their well wishes, reported FoxNews.

"Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words... It's true, I did get thrown off a horse on set... I got my bell rung pretty good," he tweeted.

"Because I have a history of concussions, they took me to see a neurologist for an assessment. He advised I take a few days off as I had suffered a concussion... But I am definitely on the mend and looking forward to getting back to work with all the wonderful people on The Code."

According to TMZ, the actor stayed in the hospital overnight after being diagnosed with a concussion.

This isn't the time that Priestley suffered from serious injuries. In August 2002, the actor was involved in a near-fatal race car accident at the Kentucky Speedway. He was left him with a fractured spine and a critical head injury.

As reported by Daily mail, Jason married make-up artist Naomi Lowde in 2005. The couple has two children together- daughter Ava, who is eight yeras old and son Dashiell, who is six years old.

Production of the drama show The Code, which is currently being filmed in Toronto, is likely to resume next week. Priestley is playing the role of a former pro hockey player who uses his ability to analyze people in his new show as a crime-solving private investigator. The show also stars Jordyn Negri as Shade's visually impaired daughter and Barry Flatman as Shade's father.

The ABC drama is set to premiere on Global next spring.
