Actress Seo Ye Ji's agency Sublime disclosed that a former staff member played key part of spreading rumors about her, leading them to take legal action against the people behind the false information.

In a statement released on April 3, the agency, as per Koreaboo, confirmed it had taken steps to protect the actress from defamation and malicious comments.
"To respond to the malicious slander and false information directed at Seo Ye Ji, we formed a team and filed the first complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in January," Sublime said.
The agency further disclosed that a former staff member had been charged with defamation. Additional individuals identified in connection with the matter would also face legal consequences.
"Recently, a former staff member was charged with defamation for spreading false information about Seo Ye Ji. Some of the people with confirmed identities will also be prosecuted," the statement read.

Sublime emphasized its commitment to pursuing all responsible parties.
"We will track down everyone until the end so that the law can punish them. We will also take strong legal action for criminal acts taking place online. We will take action without leniency or compromise to protect our actors."
Korean netizens expressed shock over the revelation, with many voicing their support for Seo.
"If I found out that someone I worked with was spreading false information about me, I would have been so frustrated," one comment read.
"This is an extensive list... from a former agency employee to an outside staff member," another user said.

Meanwhile, Seo Ye Ji recently made her first appearance on an entertainment program since her 2021 controversy, marking a return to the public eye amid ongoing legal proceedings.
