Jon Stewart, American comedian and ex-Daily Show host, signed a four year production deal with HBO which was announced on November 10,2015, according to The New York Times. The 52 year old, will begin his career's second term recording short digital videos with OTOY Inc, a Graphics and Network Company, which will be eventually streamed on HBO's streaming services platforms like HBO Now and HBO Go.

HBO also hinted on few television projects with Stewart. The venture would start by next year, but no official date has been announced yet, reported The Guardian.

According to DailyMail, Jon Stewart retired this year in August from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," a late night talk show, after hosting it for almost a period of 16 years. He was succeeded by Trevor Noah, Comedian from South Africa as "The Daily Show" host. In his long career stint, Jon has won many accolades with 23 Emmy Awards in his kitty.

Michael Lombardo, president of HBO programming, said during the press release,"Jon Stewart led a revolution that changed the face of TV comedy on 'The Daily Show.' He graced our network nearly 20 years ago, so we're thrilled to welcome back his immense talents in this next chapter of his career," quoted The Guardian.

Jon will have flexibility to work in the new environment and put forth his views on current political issues with different angle, supported by a small staff from HBO. He will portray miniature drawings throughout the day based on current events, DailyMail reported.

According to Time.com, HBO has defined an aggressive strategy by hiring Jon Stewart to cut through the surfacing competition from Online Streaming services. HBO is banking on the huge fan base of Stewart who would find it promising to shell out their money to watch Jon's views on current topics and thus strike a successful deal.

After his retirement, Jon has also contributed to various charitable causes. He also made a small appearance to Stephen Colbert's new chat show, reported BBC News.
