If your wildest dreams include dating singer and actor Jang Geun Suk, there’s a new game to help bring your fantasies into focus.
Jang, the star of the upcoming drama “Pretty Man” is the star attraction in what has been called a love simulation game.
Called “Jang Geun Suk Tokimeki Love Story,” the game offers players a chance to star in a secret romance with the idol. In the game, players can use Jang Geun Suk’s agency as a matchmaker.
“With this game, a dating relationship will become more of a reality for fans,” said a representative from his agency, TreeJ Company. “And we look forward to the response.”
The game was released in Japan last week and the series of commercials for the game will begin airing soon.
Jang is the first Korean actor whose mobile game TV ads have been released in Japan but that’s not surprising as he is so very popular there. At a recent fan meeting there, he met with 80,000 fans.
In the game’s TV commercial, Jang Geun Suk looks longingly at the camera, giving the impression that he is in love with whoever he is looking at. The actor was very popular with the crew that shot the commercial, making jokes and smiling all the time. If the extent of his fandom is any indication, few people can resist that smile.
In "Pretty Boy," he plays Dokgo Matte, a character whose good looks and charm easily seduce women. But while his good looks attract women and wealth, they don’t help him to find true love. Dokgo Matte finally learns the meaning of true love through his interactions with a woman who only loves herself.
Jang Geun Suk’s good looks and winning smile have earned him work as a cosmetics model and roles as an actor. He played a teen idol in "You're Beautiful," an indie rocker idol in "Mary Stayed Out All Night" and a fashion photographer in "Love Rain."
"Pretty Boy" is based on a manga about the prettiest man in the world written by Cheon Hye Yong. The screenwriter is Yoo Yong Ah, who worked on "The Miracle in Cell No. 7" and "No Breathing," the movie about swimmers starring Lee Jong Suk and Seo In Guk.
“Pretty Boy” will be Jang’s first drama since “Love Rain.” But while Japanese fans are waiting for the series they will at least have a game they can play.
