Amy Schumer reportedly gained 30 pounds in recent months and the tabloids are quick to blame her fame as the reason for the "Trainwreck" star hitting her biggest weight of 170 pounds to date.
"She has gained a lot of weight over the past few months," the source told Star magazine, per Celebrity Dirty Laundry. "Now that she is successful and swept up in the highlife, she drinks a ton of alcohol and eats terribly."
The article went on to add that Amy Schumer is in denial about her weight gain.
"Apparently, Amy has gained so much weight that she is barely recognizable and she recently had a total diva meltdown at a gym because the staff did not recognize her and accused her of trying to enter without a membership," it added.
But her weight gain is not something that Amy Schumer considers a joke.
Back in October, the stand-up comic teamed up with Goodwill to talk about the body shaming that some women are subjected to.
"Some nights I just didn't even want to go on stage because I couldn't find an outfit I looked good in," she said.
"It's been a struggle for me my whole life, especially just being in the entertainment industry, standing on a stage in front of people," Amy Shumer added. "I can't perform my best or be confident if I'm not sure if I'm pulling at something. Sometimes I would just want to throw in the towel and say, 'I'm not going to do stand-up tonight.'"
Since then, Amy Schumer has gained a new perspective about her weight gain and the "Trainwreck" star even posed topless with only her underwear on for the Pirelli calendar. In the photo, she's sitting on a stool while clutching a Starbucks coffee cup.
Amy Schumer described the photo as "Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman."
