The largest online video streaming service, Netflix is all set to launch the sequel of the most popular action drama flick "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny," according to Collider.

The first installment of the martial arts based film was released almost 15 years ago and was a huge hit at that time with outstanding reviews from the critics. The new film revolves around the storyline of a young romance, a legendary "Green Destiny" sword and struggles for its reclamation.

NBC News reported that Netflix described the upcoming flick as an epic martial arts combat between the good and evil world, which will indirectly help in deciding the martial world's destiny.

The trailer depicts similar charisma of the original film. It also reveals the details about the characters and plot of the film. The upcoming sequel will not feature the original star cast from the previous film.

The lead actor in first installment, Chow Yun -Fat and director Ang Lee will be the missing elements from the sequel. But to fans relief, Michelle Yeoh, Malaysian actress has been cast for her role Yu Shu-Lien's character in the upcoming flick from Netflix, reported Independent.

The upcoming film also stars Donnie Yen, actor, Jason Scott Lee, martial artist, Ju Ju Chan, athlete actress, Harry Shum Jr, Roger Yuan and Eugenia Yuan, both martial arts legends.

Deadline reported that Netflix will be carrying out such a large-scale project for the first time and has garnered huge expectations from all the followers of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon series.

The sequel of the romance action drama series is directed by Yuen Wo-Ping, script writer for Netflix's earlier adventure TV series, Marco Polo. He was also the stunt director of the previous installment of the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon film.

The rumors suggest that cinemas have refused to air the second installment on big screens fearing to live up to the expectations of the fans. The sequel was originally slated for August 2015 release, but was pushed forward, reported Slash Film.

The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is set to hit selected IMAX cinemas and Netflix on February 26, 2016.
