"The Legend of Zelda" maker Takashi Tesuka revealed that it would be nice if the heroic character Link is played by a female star in the live-action adaptation of the movie.
Tesuka recently expressed his desire to portray Link as a female character in the "The Legend of Zelda" movie. Emma Watson and Elizabeth Olsen are the actresses favored by fans to play the protagonist in the movie, according to Venture Capital Post.
"It would very fun and awesome if Link was played by a female actress - a boyish female actress," said the Nintendo's General Manager Tesuka about the possibility of portraying Link as a "boyish" women for Link's kind-of androgynous character, reported Independent.
In the video game "The Legend of Zelda" the main protagonist played by a male character named Link is missioned to save the Princess Zelda. In order save the Princess, Link would have to "collect eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom."
Link will be seen in the game as a child, a teenager and a grown-up adult from Hylian race. His character will be revolving around the formidable mission of defeating the evil, Ganon and setting the princess Zelda free once for all. To accomplish his mission he would require fetching various weapons like light arrows and master sword.
"This is something I never imagined because Link is very different to how a Japanese person looks," told Nintendo svengali Shigeru Miyamoto to MTV. "At the Japanese Expo I attended, there were so many people in cosplay who looked very good," he added.
A report in Forbes that suggested fan-favorite actresses to play the live-action adaptation of the "The Legend of Zelda" movie include Emma Watson, Annasophia Robb, Elizabeth Olsen and Jennifer Lawrence. Amid the western actress line-up, Rinko Kikuchi, a Japanese actress of "Pacific Rim" fame was also considered desirable for the character.
