Michelle Dockery paid a heart-wrenching tribute to her fiancé John Dineen at his funeral on Wednesday.
Michelle Dockery gave an emotional speech on John Dineen's demise and also sang, "The Folks Who Live on the Hill," the 1937 Oscar Hammerstein song that the couple cherished during their happy days. Dineen was put to rest at St. James Church in Ballinora, Cork, Ireland following the funeral service on Wednesday night. Dineen was laid to rest in the church that is just few minutes from his family farm where he spent his life as a child, reported People.
The "Downton Abbey" star said during her speech that she is honored for having known him and been in love with him. She also added that she is happy to had him love her. Dockery, who said that Dineen is "everything" for her, noted that he will forever be celebrated, honored and missed. Dockery noted that Dineen was "extremely loyal" both in his personal as well as in professional life.
"I was honored to know John, to love him and be loved by him," said Dockery while paying tribute at Dineen's funeral, according to The Irish Times. "He was my friend, my king, my hero, my everything. We celebrate him, we honor him and we will miss him," she added.
Dinnen, who was a commercial public relations executive, died on Sunday losing his life battle to a rare type of cancer at the age of 34. Michelle Dockery and John Dineen started dating each other around September 2013 before he was diagnosed of the fatal disease.
"John's charm was legendary," Dockery said in her speech. "He could persuade anyone to do what he wanted in the least pushy way possible - particularly the women. He had a presence that was electric when he came in to the room. He had a wicked sense of humor. He had a genuine interest in other people," she added.
