The press conference of the 1000th celebration of KBS 1TV's "Open Musical" took place in the KBS Hall in Yeo Yi Do, Seoul, on October 29, 2013. Park Tae Ho, KBS director of performing arts, PD Kim Jong Yoon, Shin Dong Yup, and Hwang Soo Kyung participated in the conference.

When asked about her first public appearance since the defamation incident, especially since she had the first trial related to defamation a day after, Hwang Soo Kyung said, "I would like to focus on the celebration of "Open Musical's" 1000th anniversary rather than my personal stuff."

Previously, Hwang Soo Kyung and her husband Choi Yoon Soo pressed charges against people who spread a false news that the two are separated on October 10.
