It's true. Actress Moon Geun Young and her "Godess of Fire: Jeonji" co-star Kim Bum are a couple. The two have dated for over a month. And they have decided that rather than being the subject of rumors, they are going to date publicly.
It's the first time that either actor has admitted to dating.
Namoo Actors, Moon Geun Young's agency, released a statement saying "Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum grew fond of each other while working on "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji."
In that drama, Moon Geun Young, 26, played Yoo Jung, Korea's first female ceramic artist. Kim Bum, 24, played Kim Tae Do, her lifelong friend and protector. Their interactions were some of the best things about the drama and his character ultimately sacrificed his life for her. While his was an unrequited love in the drama, he won her heart in real life.
Namoo went on to say that the two actors are currently getting to know each other and just beginning their relationship.
Kim Bum's agency King Actors confirmed the news saying that the two were indeed dating.
"They just started," said a King representative. "Please wish them well."
Namoo also confirmed that the two are currently on a European trip together with friends. The trip was a vacation to celebrate the drama's end.
In the past Moon Geun Young was rumored to be dating her "Mary Stayed Out All Night" co-star Jang Geun Suk and later her "Cheomdamdung Alice" co-star Park Shi Hoo but all parties involved denied the rumors. Drama fans linked Kim Bum with his "Boys Over Flowers" co-star Kim So Eun, but those rumors were also denied.
Even though the dating rumors were pretty low key and no one had actually seen the two actors out together, Moon Geun Young decided that they would not sneak around. According to Namoo Actors, Moon Geun Young felt it was important to be honest about the relationship.
"She is a very honest person," said the Namoo representative. "That's why she decided to confirm the relationship."
Moon Geun Young is currently considering new dramas. Kim Bum is promoting the Chinese film "Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon." In that film he plays Yuan Zen, a scholar who helps to raise the dragon. Before "Goddess of Fire," she played a social climbing designer in "Cheomdamdung Alice." Before Kim Bum played Kim Tae Do, he was Jo In Sung's best friend in "That Winter The Wind Blows."
